WHAT WE HAVE TO OFFER
One of the difficulties of suffering from a condition like tinnitus is that you may experience a sense of isolation, a feeling that no one truly understands how you feel and how you experience day-to-day life with the noise in your head. Perhaps you feel anxious or depressed. Maybe your tinnitus doesn't really bother you that much but you want to learn more about it. We offer a safe and comfortable place where you can meet others who share your condition. We are here to support you, and some of us are here because we need your support.
Meeting activities include open discussions on topics of interest to participants. Although not obligated, we encourage all attendees to share their experiences and exchange information about what they know about tinnitus and what they've tried. Although there is no absolute cure, many people have improved their quality of life with what they've learned in the group.
As the Denver Tinnitus Support Group acts as a liaison between the tinnitus community and the medical profession, we bring in guest speakers that share their knowledge and expertise with us. Past guest speakers have included audiologists, ENT specialists, otolaryngologists, psychologists, surgeons, general practitioners and researchers. Alternative treatment modalities that have been presented include chiropractic, acupuncture, nutrition, naturopathic medicine, yoga, relaxation techniques, and Mindfulness Based Reduction Therapy.
We are open to new ideas and excited about the possibilities that current tinnitus research brings. Come join us and participate in the dialog and exchange of the front range tinnitus community. Together we share the hope and conviction that one day our world will be silent once again.
